Congratulations to the recipient of our AAH-ABV Scholarship, Ms. Khali Jones.
Khali is a second year student at Tuskegee University College of Veterinary Medicine and has held multiple Human-Animal Bond leadership positions.
Positions include being both coordinator and secretary for PUPS (Pets Uplifting People’s Spirits), which is an animal-assisted therapy/activity program that enables behavior-tested and health screened pets to visit nursing homes and VA Hospitals in Tuskegee, Alabama.
Khali also volunteered her summer with the Research Center on Human Animal Interaction’s “Walk a Pound, Lose a Pound” program, which focuses on the issues of both obesity and unwanted shelter pets.
Khali has also been an active member of the Tuskegee’s Student HAB Club for the past 1.5 years, and her future professional goals include continuing to support the human-animal bond through education, research and outreach.
Her dedication to the HAB is inspiring, and it is hoped that our $2,000.00 scholarship will help to continue her successes through the next 2 years of her education.
